Jane Eyre edge painting — Part 2 🕯️
I chose to depict Jane walking down a dark hallway, a moment that felt representative of the entire story.
She’s navigating the unknown, learning who she is as she goes. The door at the end could hold something menacing… or something transformative.
I loved capturing that quiet tension along the page edges.
Hope you enjoy the process 🤍

Jane Eyre Book Edge Process Part 1 🖤
This story has always been one of my favorites—spooky, romantic, and quietly powerful. Here I painted Jane in the garden of Thornfield. A place i feel became a haven for Jane.
If you look closely, you’ll spot Rochester on the parapet, adding just a hint of mystery. I wanted to include the oak tree struck by lightning, but it didn’t quite work out—so oak leaves found their way into the top instead. Sometimes the details evolve, just like the story 🤍

Hey I don’t know if I’ve made my face seen on my page like really ever. But I’m here. I’m a real person and real person talk it’s been a tough few months honestly. There have been some VERY heavy days and some equally amazing and uplifting days. Not to mention current events.
I’ve had a lot of anxiety and depression. I was officially diagnosed with ADHD. We had Christmas and one of my wonderful daughters chose to be baptized. We spent time with family. Did some book edge paintings.
I wanted to hop on sans makeup to show you the real me and share a small thing that makes me happy today. It’s this silly sweatshirt. I know random but from it getting lost in the mail for 2 months to showing up being 3x too big and my mom altering it and receiving it back today from her; It actually fits! AND best of all it has my all time favorite obsession: Disney Robin Hood all over it. I’m choosing to look at something small that brings me joy every day.
Let’s fill our feed with a small win or a smile. I would love to hear what small thing/s are bringing you joy today.
I appreciate you- you are valued! 🫶🏻

Painting book edges might be my love language 🌸
Flowers are always my favorite to paint, and these felt perfect for Sense & Sensibility—soft, romantic, and right at home with the Wordsworth Collector’s Edition cover.
This was a gift for my mom, and honestly… I might need to paint another one for myself 🤍

✨ Mini Book Review: A Cozy Holiday Romance with a Scottish Twist ✨
Highland Holiday by Kasey Stockton was such a fun holiday read. Um… set in Scotland? YES please. I loved how easy it was to connect with these characters—you really feel for them as they navigate silly situations, family drama, and all the awkward and chaotic bits that comes with it.
What really stood out to me was that, unlike a lot of vacation romances, their story didn’t just magically wrap itself up. They had to go back to real life and actually make it work—and I loved watching that unfold. The ending was so heartwarming and satisfying, with a truly lovely HEA that left me smiling.
What I Liked:
🏴 Scotland setting (obvs)
🎄 Cozy holiday vibes
💞 Characters you really root for
😂 Silly moments + relatable family drama
✨ A heartwarming, satisfying HEA
💗 character Growth

Wait until you see these Jane Eyre book edges… 🌿📖
I’m so excited to share this one. Jane Eyre is a favorite of mine, and I wanted to show Thornfield and its garden—a quiet refuge for Jane. (I wanted to add the oak tree but that didn’t happen) With the top I had to add the mysterious vibes that make this story so iconic. 📖🕯️💀
I really loved working on this one so I’m already thinking…what classic book should I paint next on the edges? I’d love your suggestions! 💛

✨ Mini Book Review: Chess not Checkers ✨
I’m finally getting caught up on my holiday reading, and Chess Not Checkers by @authorannahconwell was such a fun one. I was so excited to see Annah Conwell write another installment that connects to her previous series, and I loved getting to revisit the Carter family with these two characters.
The college campus atmosphere really pulled me in and took me right back to my college days (when did those get so long ago 🙀). Both characters were challenged in different ways, but I loved how they helped each other work through things and end up in better places. Sweet, engaging, and such a cozy college romance—I can’t wait to read more from this series.
What I Liked:
🎓 College campus vibes
📚 A connected series
💞 Characters who support each other
♟️ Growth and personal challenges
✨ Sweet college romance energy
