Guys, I did a thing! 👀✨{the story behind the illustration} A couple of weeks ago I went to a book signing and ended up chatting with one of the authors about their character art… and it sparked something. I realized I should start reaching out to publishers and see if I can get my artwork into more books. So lately, I’ve been putting together a portfolio to send out—and I wanted to share my favorite piece so far. This illustration didn’t start with a specific character in mind. I stumbled across a few inspiration photos of a girl in a cozy bookshop, and this is what came out of it. As I kept drawing, I couldn’t help but think of two of my favorites: Claire Cain’s Inspired by You and Annah Conwell’s But He’s My One Regret. ✨ “Mini Book Review: A Second-Chance Christmas Romance You’ll Melt For” ✨ Married Christmas, Happy Holidays by Claire Cain is another win—honestly, I always love a @clairecainwriter book, and this third holiday story is such a fun, heartfelt addition to her Christmas lineup. (Married to the Military series) I loved the history between these two and how they had to work through old hurts. He really had to earn her trust, and she had to find a way to forgive… and watching them navigate that felt so real and tender. They have those meant for each other vibes—you just want to shake them a little so they’ll finally get out of their own way. Sweet, cozy, and full of emotion. Stella and Roman are the kind of main characters you can’t help but cheer on—especially as they’re both trying to overcome some pretty big setbacks. You really feel for Stella… things definitely went belly-up for her, 🦨 but watching her rebuild and find joy again made the story so sweet. Their chemistry, their banter, and the way they quietly champion each other gave this book that warm-and-cozy Christmas-romcom feel I love.
